What is a dramaturg?
A dramaturg is a theatre professional who guides and supports theatremakers and live performance artists to make their vision come to life and to ensure their work is coherent, creative and impactful. They provide context, research and feedback to help improve the quality and/or accuracy of a performance.
Why are dramaturgs useful?
Dramaturgs are familiar with current trends within the industry and with a vast range of performance styles, techniques, training types and performance practices. With this skillset and experience, a dramaturg will assess all elements of your performance, from conception to execution, and assist you to make both original and intelligent decisions in your work.
To understand my clients' artistic visions and to help them discover exciting, creative and perhaps challenging means of communicating and expanding them through performance.
