Legal Terms and Conditions:

Purchasing an Extract from the Screenplay Library

In agreeing to these Terms and Conditions, you declare that you have read and understood and agree to the following:


“I” and “me” refer to you, the buyer, who are purchasing this screenplay extract from the Screenplay Library.
“The script(s)” refers to the screenplay or screenplays purchased from the Screenplay Library.
“Resulting film(s)” refers to the film or films you may produce from the full script.

  • I will clearly credit the script(s) I use to Lee James Broadwood and will do so by specifically marking: ‘Screenplay by Lee James Broadwood’.

  • I will not make any alterations to the script(s) I purchase unless I have received permission and consent expressed in writing by Lee James Broadwood (which can be requested at

  • I understand that after having bought the script(s), I cannot alter the script to produce a film greatly resembling the content of the script(s) to avoid crediting Lee James Broadwood, and that this would be a breach of UK and International Copyright Law.

  • I will clearly mark and distinguish any content of my own in film(s) resulting from the script(s), that is supplementary and supportive to the existing content of the script(s) – in texts preceding title sequences or in the credits, for example. 

  • I understand that I do not gain the sole rights to the script(s) and that full rights remain with Lee James Broadwood.

  • I understand that the script(s) remain in the Screenplay Library for other filmmakers to purchase and use in the same way as me; that resulting film(s) will thus only be one of many possible interpretations of the script(s); and that I am thus not the only individual with the rights to interpret of the script(s).

  • I do not have the right to sell the script(s) or to share the script with anyone outside of the creatives directly involved in the resulting film’s or films’ production.

  • I do not have the right to create copies of the script(s) other than for the purpose of sharing it with creatives involved with the resulting film’s or films’ production.

  • I understand that a misuse of the script(s) is a breach of this written contract and a violation of UK and International Copyright Law and that legal action may be carried out against me should I misuse the script(s) in any way which conflicts with this contract.

  • I understand that all of the above does not change regardless of how many scripts to which I have purchased full access.
